Zangazur corridor to reduce cargo delivery time from China by two weeks
The opening of the Zangazur corridor will make it possible to deliver goods arriving by sea from China to Azerbaijan and the countries of the region two weeks faster.
The remarks came from Khudayar Hasanli, Head of the Department of Strategic Planning and Development of the Baku International Sea Trade Port Company, Report informs.
He noted that saving time is an important factor for entrepreneurs, which also affects prices.
“Thanks to this, entrepreneurs will have more income. The services of Georgian ports are expensive and have no alternatives. If the goods are transported through Türkiye’s Mersin Port via the Zangazur corridor, it will cost half as much. At the same time, the non-existence of border crossing point will also affect delivery time and costs,” Hasanli said.
“Trucks coming from Türkiye will be able to travel cheaper and faster through the Zangazur corridor from Nakhchivan to the Baku port, and from there to Asia, and vice versa. The Zangazur corridor is also significant from the viewpoint of transportation of fertilizers from the countries of Central Asia.”
