Zelenskyy declares Azerbaijani officer "Hero of Ukraine" PHOTO
On May 16, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded the title "Hero of Ukraine" to a serviceman of the Azerbaijani origin, Kirill Aghasiyev.
“I signed a decree on rewarding our heroes. State awards are given to 201 servicemen of Ukraine’s Armed Forces. The title "Hero of Ukraine" was awarded to Senior Lieutenant Kirill Aghasiyev, platoon commander of the 92nd separate mechanised brigade,” Zelenskyy said in his video message, Caliber.Az informs.
The same title was also awarded posthumously to Lieutenant Colonel Vyacheslav Yerk, Commander of the aviation squadron of the 40th tactical aviation brigade.
Zelenskyy thanked the defenders of Ukraine and remembered those who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Azerbaijan, Vladislav Kanevsky, shared information about the awarding of Kirill Aghasyiev, saying “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to our Hero!”
