Egypt, Croatia condole with Azerbaijan over deadly embassy attack in Iran
Egyptian Foreign Ministry and Croatian embassy in Baku have expressed their condolences over the deadly attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran.
Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid condemned the armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran.
According to Caliber.Az, a representative of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry wrote about this on Twitter.
"Our Sincere condolences to the government & people of the friendly country of Azerbaijan for the killing of a staff member of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Tehran in an attack on the embassy today. We affirm Egypt's full solidarity with Azerbaijan in this painful incident," he tweeted.
Meanwhile, the Croatian embassy expressed its condolences in connection with the terrorist act at the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran.
“We are shocked by today's armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran, which resulted in human casualties. We express our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” the diplomatic mission wrote on its Facebook page, Report informs.
An armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran was committed on January 27 morning. The attacker broke through to the security post of the diplomatic mission and killed the head of the security service by using a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
Two embassy security guards were also injured while repelling the attack. Their health condition is satisfactory. The attacker on the Azerbaijani embassy was detained.
