Spanish embassy may open in Azerbaijan
Officials from Azerbaijan and Spain discussed on March 30 the creation of an intergovernmental commission or a working group, as well as the inauguration of a Spanish embassy in Azerbaijan.
Report informs that the discussions were held within the framework of the visit to Spain of the delegation headed by the First Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Elnur Aliyev.
The delegation held a meeting with the head of the committee on economic issues of the Congress of Deputies of Spain, Celso Luis Delgado Ars, and the head of the committee on industry, trade and tourism Juan Capdevila.
Noting that Azerbaijan attaches particular importance to relations with the European Union and is a reliable partner in ensuring the energy security of Europe, Aliyev informed the Spanish parliamentarians about the current state of economic and trade relations between the countries.
The deputy minister said that the mutual trade turnover between the countries exceeds $1 billion and Spain is one of the ten main trade partners of Azerbaijan.
