Zelenskyy still sticks to his condition for diplomatic solution with Russia

The beginning of diplomatic negotiations and fixing the end of the war can only be after Russia withdraws its troops from Ukraine without a fight.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the conditions for a diplomatic resolution with Russia during a press conference on the results of the Buchansky summit on March 31.

“Yes, of course, there will be a fixation on the end of the war. But only at this big table, where decent states will sit, and the representative of the Russian Federation, it is very difficult for me who by that time will be the representative of Russia, who will first withdraw all troops from our territory without a fight, then the diplomatic format begins,” Zelenskyy said, according to RBC-Ukraine.

However, he said if Ukraine “by force knocks them [Russians] all out to the end, then there is nothing to talk about with such people in general,” since there will be big losses.

“There will be a large number of victims. What to talk about with these people in general? They should be isolated ... That's all," Zelenskyy noted.

The head of state also recalled that he had previously proposed a "peace formula", where there is "a very specific sequence of actions that will unambiguously lead to an end to the war because we want peace."
