Vagif Poetry Days in Shusha ends with "Vagif's World" spectacle PHOTO

The last event within the framework of Vagif Poetry Days in Shusha was a poetic musical performance "Vagif's World".

The performance presented images of Molla Panah Vagif, Molla Vali Vidadi, Mahammad Fuzuli, Alishir Navai, Shah Ismayil Khatai and other poets from the Turkic world, Report informs.

Prior to the screening, Secretary of the Azerbaijani Writers Union, writer Ilgar Fahmi, highlighted the importance of the Vagif Poetry Days.

"This year marks numerous unique and distinctive moments. The first moment is that the festival of poetry kicked off in Gazakh. The festivities, as in the Soviet times, which started in the poet's hometown, were continued in Shusha, and wonderful events were held here for two days. Two significant events coincided this year: the 100th anniversary of great leader Heydar Aliyev and the proclamation of Shusha as the cultural capital of the Turkic world.

"On these days, we have touched upon both significant events. The presentation of a book by the Azerbaijani Union of Writers dedicated to Heydar Aliyev's jubilee was held at Mehmandarovs' Manor Complex. Besides, due to the fact that Shusha was declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world, this year's events were dedicated not only to Vagif's life and creativity but to the Turkic world in general," the writer underscored.

He added that the primary purpose of staging the "Vagif's World" performance was to show the place of the outstanding poet in the formation of the modern Azerbaijani literary language and the pan-Turkic context.

Although the composition was based on the dialogue between Vagif and Vidadi, it also included poems by other poets, musical works, and mughams.
