Azerbaijani army takes over 60 combat positions of Armenian armed forces in Karabakh under control
    MoD statement

On September 19, the Ministry of Defense held a briefing for media representatives.

As reported by Caliber.Az, at a briefing, the head of the department's press service, Colonel Anar Eyvazov, said that local anti-terrorism measures carried out by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the Karabakh region are successfully continuing.

“During the events, more than 60 combat positions of formations of the Armed Forces of Armenia came under the control of our Armed Forces. At the same time, more than 20 military vehicles, more than 40 artillery installations, over 30 mortars, 2 anti-aircraft missile launchers, more than 6 Mortar electronic warfare stations and other military equipment belonging to the Armenian Armed Forces were neutralized,” noted Anar Eyvazov.

He also said that the information disseminated in the Armenian segments of social networks about the alleged shelling of civilian objects by the Azerbaijani units is provocative and false: “The goal is to undermine the image of our army and create a misconception in the international community about local anti-terrorism activities. In the videos that we publish on the official website of the Ministry of Defense and on social networks, it is clear that our units only strike legitimate military targets.”

Anar Eyvazov noted that during local anti-terrorist measures in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, it was repeatedly observed how the formations of the Armenian Armed Forces place fire weapons and armored military equipment for various purposes in populated areas, and also attract civilians to military installations.

“As you know, our arsenal contains high-precision weapons and military equipment that meet the most modern requirements. In many cases, the tasks of destroying military facilities were suspended after our military discovered civilians at a military facility,” Anar Eyvazov emphasized.

He stated that although units of the Armenian Armed Forces deploy military equipment in or near populated areas, as a result of high-precision fire, only long-term firing points, military equipment and military infrastructure used for military purposes are disabled and rendered harmless.

“We call on the military personnel of the formations of the Armenian Armed Forces stationed in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan to lay down their arms and surrender. We also advise civilians in the area to stay away from them and not provide any assistance to them. Advisory notifications are communicated through loudspeakers and other technical means,” Anar Eyvazov emphasized.
