Azerbaijan sends 24 tonnes of petrol and 40 tonnes of diesel fuel to Garabagh Armenians
In accordance with the request made by the representatives of Armenian residents living in the Garabagh region of Azerbaijan at the meeting held in Yevlakh on September 21, 2023, to provide fuel and lubricants, first of all, to kindergartens, emergency medical aid and firefighting services, on September 23, 24 tons of gasoline and 40 tons of diesel were sent via the Barda-Aghdam-Asgaran-Khankendi road, Caliber.Az reports citing the statement by the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that a working group headed by Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev has been set up on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev to solve social, humanitarian, economic, and infrastructural issues in the Garabagh region.
Since September 20, 2023, the working group has carried out the following activities:
- On September 22, 2 trucks with 40 tonnes of food and hygiene products, as well as 2 vehicles with bread for the residents of Armenian origin were sent by the Ministry of Emergency Situations along the Aghdam-Askeran-Khankendi road;
- In order to provide first aid and food for Armenian residents, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has set up tent sites for 1,000 people in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Kalbajar. The Armenian residents are receiving medical assistance and on-site support from police, military and civilian personnel;
- The Lachin-Khankendi road is being used to ensure the passage of food and daily consumption goods for the personnel of the Russian peacekeeping forces and for delivery to the civilian population through the peacekeepers.
