Azerbaijani top diplomat informs Russian presidential adviser on reasons for anti-terror measures

On September 29, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met Advisor to the Russian President, Special Representative of the Russian President on climate issues Ruslan Edelgeriyev.

The meeting discussed cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, prospects for a possible partnership in the field of environmental protection, issues arising from the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), the situation in the region after Azerbaijan's anti-terrorist measures, as well as issues of humanitarian assistance, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Foreign Ministry

Jeyhun Bayramov informed his interlocutor in detail about the challenges to regional peace and security that arose as a result of the actions of Armenia and its illegal regime, as well as the reasons that determined the local anti-terrorism measures that Azerbaijan carried out on its sovereign territory in full compliance with international humanitarian law. The hope was expressed that the withdrawal of illegal Armenian armed groups, which were the main threat in the region, would serve peace and stability.

Ruslan Edelgeriyev was informed about the disarmament process, about the urgent measures taken by Azerbaijan to meet the needs of the Armenian residents, and about the intensive negotiations on their reintegration.

Jeyhun Bayramov once again emphasized Azerbaijan’s commitment to dialogue on the reintegration of Armenians living in Karabakh and stated that Azerbaijan will continue comprehensive measures to meet the needs of Armenian residents.
