OIC labor ministers conference kicks off in Baku PHOTO
The 5th Session of the Islamic Conference of Labor Ministers (ICLM) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has got underway at the Baku Congress Center.
A preparatory meeting for the ministerial session of the conference is being held, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population told Caliber.Az.
Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Anar Karimov, who was elected chairman of the session, pointed out the importance of the OIC labor ministers' conferences in expanding relations among Islamic countries in the fields of labor, employment, and social protection, and noted that the current conference is aimed at ensuring further progress in this regard. The deputy minister noted that youth employment in the OIC countries is one of the key policies pursued.
Following the speech by the OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs Ahmad Sengendo, the agenda and program of the meeting were adopted on the sidelines of the first working session.
Deputy Minister Karimov hailed the importance of human capital development, capacity building, digital development, and wide application of high technologies to cope with unemployment.
