Armenian soldiers to fight against Russia, pundit claims

Armenian political analyst, head of Luys Analytical Centre Hayk Ayvazyan,  has said that Armenian soldiers will fight against Russia.

"I have already said that if it goes on like this, we should not be surprised if the Armenian military appears in a war against Russian soldiers, that is, Armenian officers and soldiers will appear in a conflict with Russia. Because the West and NATO do not want to go to war against Russia themselves," Caliber.Az quotes him as saying in an interview with Armenian media.

"They say why should we fight against Russia, let other nations fight. You know, France considers it beneath its dignity to come and defend Armenians. They say, who are Armenians for a French soldier to risk his life? Because for the West, other peoples are second or third-class peoples. They are colonial nations. So no American, no Englishman, no Frenchman considers it an honour to come and shed blood for Armenians or risk his life for Armenians.

Moreover, NATO says that they do not want to go to war against Russia because they know that there will be no winner. Even on the contrary, they will lose, because it will come to a nuclear confrontation, and NATO will tell them not to be destroyed, and they will negotiate. That is why they do not want to go to war against Russia and say let the Ukrainians, Armenians, Georgians, Azerbaijanis, Kazakhs go. It is for this purpose that the West prepares the peoples of different countries around Russia so that they are motivated, creating conditions for their use in the war against Russia.

As for [Armenian Prime Minister Nikol] Pashinyan's non-participation in the EAEU [Eurasian Economic Union] meeting. Do you see the accumulation of trucks at Upper Lars [checkpoint]? Russia, in my opinion, and judging by the processes, acts as follows. It cooperates with other countries based on reciprocity. Remember, recently the State Duma did not pass the bill on the recognition of the rights of Armenian drivers. Because the Armenian parliament promised by law to give status to the Russian language and failed to fulfil that promise. This move by Russia is not anti-Armenian. Any country that does the same to Russia will receive a response.

As for Lars, I will tell you that for a long time, starting from 2013-2014, our products that we exported to Russia, to put it mildly, did not comply with safety rules, Russian laws and standards. However, Russia made a political decision, saying that we are their allies, and turning a blind eye to these violations. Now, apparently, Russia has simply begun to work more objectively. Therefore, if Pashinyan thinks that he can continue to take such steps against the CSTO, finance anti-Russian actions and at the same time use all the opportunities and advantages of the EAEU, he is deeply mistaken,” Ayvazyan said.
