Azerbaijani civilian severely injured in mine explosion in Tartar

Alizade Hasanali Shahin oglu, born in 2001, a resident of the village of Garadaghli district, was blown up by a mine while grazing animals.

On February 4, at approximately 18:00, the Azerbaijani police received information about a mine explosion in the village of Giziloba, Tartar region, the regional press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told APA.

He was wounded in the leg. The citizen was evacuated to the hospital by police officers.

The left foot of a mine victim in Tartar was amputated, the press service of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) told Report.

The victim was wounded as a result of a mine explosion near the former line of contact.

The left leg, injured as a result of an anti-personnel mine explosion while grazing cattle in an unmined area, was amputated below the ankle, and the right leg received a shrapnel wound.

"ANAMA once again calls on citizens to act responsibly, pay attention to mine and danger signs, avoid going into unfamiliar places and follow the necessary rules, especially considering that the areas along the former contact line are heavily contaminated with mines," the agency said in its appeal to citizens.

An investigation is underway.
