AIC’s vision: Green projects and job creation take centre stage in new investments
Azerbaijan Investment Company OJSC (AIC) has identified green energy and green projects as key areas for its future investments, signalling a strong commitment to sustainable growth.
In an interview with Euronews, AIC executive director Ulvi Mansurov highlighted the company’s strategic direction, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“We have identified green energy and green projects as priority areas for investment,” he said.
Mansurov also noted that the company plans to diversify its investment portfolio to include the pharmaceutical, food processing, and manufacturing sectors.
AIC has already made significant strides, having invested in 23 projects across various industries in Azerbaijan. “Of these, 19 are plants, factories, and production facilities,” Mansurov shared, adding, “The total volume of the company's investments is approximately $170 million, made in projects with a total cost of close to $1 billion, of which $280 million are direct foreign investments.”
In the pharmaceutical sector, Mansurov discussed AIC’s collaboration with Diamed Group. “Two plants have been built as part of this cooperation: one produces disposable syringes, and the other manufactures systems for intravenous infusions. These were our first projects in the pharmaceutical sector. The third plant is being built jointly with a Turkish company,” he said.
Mansurov also emphasized AIC’s focus on job creation. “When all projects start operating at full capacity, 2,300 people will be employed. In the future, we expect more public and private investment funds to be established. Such funds can make a great contribution to economic development,” he added.
Through these efforts, AIC is not only focusing on advancing green energy and technology but also fostering job creation and economic development in Azerbaijan.
