Ambassador: Azerbaijan, Slovakia to sign economic cooperation agreements
Azerbaijan and Slovakia are preparing to sign a package of agreements aimed at strengthening economic ties during the upcoming visit of Slovak President Peter Pellegrini to Baku, Slovak Ambassador to Azerbaijan Elchin Gasymov said.
"We currently have many projects under consideration, including within the framework of the Slovak president's official visit. Therefore, we plan to sign numerous documents specifically focused on economic cooperation," the ambassador told Report.
Gasymov noted that negotiations are ongoing over a proposed 10-year contract for Azerbaijani natural gas supplies to Slovakia. According to him, discussions are currently taking place at the expert level between Slovakia's state gas company and Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR).
The ambassador also identified the construction of a village in the Karabakh region with the participation of Slovak companies as one of the key joint initiatives between the two countries.
"And, of course, our cooperation in the defense industry is also expanding," he added.
President Peter Pellegrini is expected to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan in July, a trip that is anticipated to further advance bilateral cooperation in energy, infrastructure, and other sectors.
