Armenia grants bail to relatives of former judicial official Poghosyan
The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia has released the relatives of Mihran Poghosyan, the former head of the Service for the Enforcement of Judicial Acts, on bail of 50 million drams ($131,000) each.
The relatives are facing charges related to their involvement in alleged criminal activities linked to Poghosyan’s tenure, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
The charges include accusations of aiding and abetting abuse of power and embezzlement on a large and especially large scale. The ongoing investigation, which is part of a broader case against Poghosyan, has also led to legal proceedings against his family members.
Poghosyan, who was once a prominent figure in Armenia’s judicial enforcement system, has been wanted since May 2023 in connection with a drug smuggling case.
