Armenia, India discuss regional developments
Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan and Indian Foreign Ministry’s Policy Planning Division Head Sumit Seth held political consultations.
During the consultations, held on July 3 in Yerevan, the sides discussed issues related to the foreign policy priorities of the two countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
"The parties noted the growing dynamics of bilateral relations, stressed the importance of intensifying political dialogue, Armenian-Indian high-level contacts and interdepartmental ties,” the message said.
Besides, the sides discussed a wide range of international and regional policy issues, as well as issues of strengthening economic, cultural, educational ties and stimulating cooperation on international platforms.
India and Armenia consider each other to be natural allies, strengthening their military ties during the past few years.
In this way, the sides have signed a $245 million-worth deal to export India’s Pinaka multi-barrel rocket system to Armenia. Yerevan mainly purchases missiles, rockets, radars, etc, from New Delhi and is interested in Indian-made UAVs.
