Eurostat: Russian oil supplies to Europe plunge
Russian oil supplies to the European Union (EU) collapsed in February 2026.
The EU purchased €181.5 million worth of Russian crude during the month, three times less than the month before and the lowest level since November 2025, the Ria Novosti reports, citing the Eurostat.
Compared with January, the value of supplies fell by nearly 19%, and compared with February 2025, it dropped by a factor of 3.2.
Only Slovakia and the Netherlands imported Russian oil during the reporting month.
Slovakia accounted for €147.2 million in purchases, while the Netherlands bought €34.2 million, resuming imports after a year-long break.
Hungary, which, alongside Slovakia, had recently remained a regular buyer of Russian oil, did not import any crude in February.
