Armenia’s ruling party gains most votes in Yerevan municipal elections

The Central Election Commission of Armenia has released preliminary data on the voting results at all 475 polling stations during the elections of the Yerevan Council of Elders, Caliber.Az reports citing the Armenian newspaper Zhokhovurd.

According to official data from the Central Election Commission of Armenia, political forces gained votes as shown below:

  1. The party "Public Voice" – 9.68% (22,431)
  2. Civil Contract Party – 32.57% (75,463)
  3. Fair Armenia Party – 1.12% (2,595)
  4. The Victory Party – 1.71% (3,959)
  5. The Power of the Motherland Party – 0.74% (1,706)
  6. European Party of Armenia – 1.11% (2,572)
  7. National Progress Party – 18.89% (43,765)
  8. The party "In the name of Social Justice" – 0.34% (780)
  9. The Republic Party – 11.32% (26,236)
  10. United Armenia Party – 0.55% (1,282)
  11. Enlightened Armenia Party – 1.8% (4,174)
  12. Democratic Consolidation Party – 1.01% (2,348)
  13. Country for Life Party – 3.64% (8,425)
  14. Mother Armenia Block – 15.43% (35,739)

"It should be noted that in yesterday's elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan, the Civil Contract party received 75,463 votes. Compared to previous years, there is a decrease in the number of voters of the Civil Contract party. So, in 2018, in the elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan, the My Step bloc received 294,092 votes. In 2018, the My Step bloc received 290,439 votes in Yerevan during the snap parliamentary elections in Armenia. In the early elections of the Armenian parliament in 2021, the Civil Contract party received 181,180 votes in Yerevan.

Elections to the Council of Elders, involving 13 parties and one bloc, were held in Yerevan on September 17.

The number of voters in the capital's elections was 824,250. 350 local observers and 24 foreign observers monitored the voting at 475 polling stations in 12 administrative districts of the Armenian capital," the newspaper writes.
