Armenia’s ruling party leads overseas electronic voting results
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s ruling Civil Contract party has taken the lead in the overseas electronic voting segment of the parliamentary elections, receiving the support of 330 out of 410 voters who participated in the ballot.
The vote count was conducted at Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission in the presence of its chairman, Vahagn Hovakimyan, and was broadcast live.
Electronic voting was available to employees of Armenia’s diplomatic and consular missions, family members residing with them, as well as military personnel on long-term assignments abroad, students, and their families.
The voting took place from 26 to 29 May.
“Overall, 537 individuals were eligible to vote electronically. Of these, 410 cast their ballots. Twenty-two ballots were declared invalid. The Civil Contract party received 330 votes, the Strong Armenia bloc 13 votes, and the Armenia bloc 8 votes,” Hovakimyan said.
