Armenia tries to substantiate its failures with lies Baku responds to Yerevan
The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan has blamed Armenia for taking multiple groundless steps with manipulations including, but not limited to, the UN Security Council (UNSC).
The ministry's Spokesperson Aykhan Hajizada said the activities of Yerevan at the UN platforms have been taking place simultaneously with rejecting the UNSC resolutions passed as a result of the occupation of the territories of Azerbaijan for almost 30 years, and continuing the blatant violations of the norms and principles of international law following the 44-day war.
"However, after all these illogical steps failed and have not yielded any results whatsoever, Armenia tries to substantiate its failures with lies, various excuses and drawn-out groundless statements, as well as to justify its destructive actions," Hajizada noted.
According to him, the Armenian Foreign Ministry must normalize relations of Armenia with neighbouring states on the basis of international law and refrain from disrupting behaviour obstructing the peace efforts in the region, instead of creating false expectations in society and issuing statements full of deceit.
Hajizada's remarks came in response to manipulative statements by his Armenian counterpart Ani Badalyan about the so-called outcomes of the UNSC meeting on the fictional "humanitarian crisis" in Karabakh on August 16.
