Armenian armed forces fail in provocation attempts, Azerbaijan maintains control
On the evening of March 29 and the morning of March 30, the Armenian armed forces once again engaged in provocative actions, attempting to conduct reconnaissance flights over Azerbaijan Army positions in the Gerenzur settlement area using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drones.
The Armenian forces made three separate attempts to breach Azerbaijan's airspace with these reconnaissance flights, Caliber.Az reports via Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry.
However, thanks to the heightened vigilance and preparedness of Azerbaijan Army units, all of Armenia's provocative maneuvers were successfully thwarted.
In addition to the aerial incursions, Armenian forces also resorted to ground-based provocations. Using small arms, they repeatedly opened fire on Azerbaijani military positions from the directions of Gorus, Basarkechar, and Chambarak regions. The Azerbaijan Army responded promptly, maintaining defensive readiness and preventing any further escalation.
The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry has consistently reported incidents of ceasefire violations by Armenian armed forces, including the use of small arms fire targeting Azerbaijani positions. Similar incidents were reported on March 19-20, with Armenian armed forces targeting Azerbaijani Army positions.
Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry has condemned these actions as deliberate provocations aimed at escalating tensions in the region.
