Armenian army fires on Azerbaijani positions despite Pashinyan's ceasefire directive
On March 19, at about 14:15, the Armenian armed forces units from the positions located in the direction of Gunashli settlement of Basarkechar region subjected to fire the Azerbaijan Army positions.
The attack involved small arms fire aimed at Azerbaijani positions, Caliber.Az reports citing Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministy.
This incident occurs on the same day that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan issued a directive to his country’s Ministry of Defence, instructing them not to violate the ceasefire regime in place. The Prime Minister emphasized Armenia's commitment to peace and reiterated that the draft peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan was awaiting finalization.
“The draft peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been agreed and is waiting to be signed. My clear instruction to the Ministry of Defence is not to violate the ceasefire. Armenia is moving towards peace, not war,” Pashinyan wrote.
