Armenian, Azerbaijani FMs discuss recent tensions in phone call UPDATED
On 5 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov had a phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan.
During the conversation, the Ministers exchanged views on recent developments in the region. The sides expressed concern and noted the importance of refraining from actions that could further escalate tensions, emphasizing the need to ensure stability and security, Caliber.Az reports via the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his Armenian counterpart about the drone attacks carried out on 5 March against the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure and injuries to civilians.
The Ministers noted the importance of sustainble peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan spoke by phone with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
According to the statement, “The ministers discussed recent developments. Both sides expressed concern and emphasised the importance of refraining from actions that could lead to further escalation, noting the need to ensure stability and security.”
