Armenian defendant disputes witness accounts on April 2016 battles Trial in Baku
On December 23, the criminal trial of Armenian nationals continued at the Baku Military Court, with the defendants delivering their final statements, Azertac reports.
During the session, defendant Levon Mnatsakanyan presented his concluding remarks, expressing disagreement with the testimonies of prosecution witnesses and victims regarding the April 2016 clashes, the involvement of mercenaries, and other related matters.
The trial concerns Armenian citizens accused of crimes against peace and humanity resulting from Armenia’s military aggression, as well as war crimes, including the planning and waging of aggressive war, genocide, violations of the laws and customs of war, terrorism, financing of terrorism, violent seizure and retention of power, and numerous other offences.
