Armenian defendants deliver final statements in Baku trial
Proceedings continued at the Baku Military Court on December 22 in the criminal case against citizens of Armenia accused of grave crimes.
The court heard the final statements of defendants David Babayan and Levon Mnatsakanyan, Azertag reports.
During their addresses, both defendants presented counterarguments regarding the evidence submitted by the prosecution.
The Armenian citizens stand accused of crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes, including the preparation and waging of an aggressive war, genocide, violations of the laws and customs of war, terrorism, financing of terrorism, the violent seizure and retention of power, as well as a range of other serious offences.
The trial is part of ongoing judicial proceedings examining crimes committed during the period of armed conflict.
