Armenian media reports on lack of ideological unity, raging hatred within ruling party

27 December 2022 13:10

There is no ideological unity within the Armenian ruling “Civil Contract” (CC) party with everyone hating each other.

As Caliber.Az reports, the Yerevan-based Graparak publication wrote in their observation on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s party.

“An atmosphere of impatience has formed within the ruling party. There are groups that hate each other from the bottom of their hearts. As an example, the relationship between the prime minister and Minister of Defence, Suren Papikyan, has become tense, which in turn reflected in the relations between the members of their teams.

Relations between the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, and the Chief of Staff of the prime minister’s office, Arayik Harutyunyan have also become extremely tense. They were irrevocably spoiled from the moment when Alen Simonyan’s hands destroyed the dream of Arayik Harutyunyan to become president of the Republic. Simonyan made every effort to have Vahagn Khachaturyan take over the post.

The parliamentary faction also has several small groups that do not tolerate each other, with everyone together hating Arsen Torosyan, who exposed the falsifications during elections in the CC party. The interests and goals of the once revolutionary teammates are far apart, there is no ideological unity, and, most importantly, they have different incomes, which is the cause for the greatest dissatisfaction”, the publication wrote.
