Armenian military expert: Azerbaijan entitled to carry out anti-terrorist measures in Karabakh

Armenian military expert Hayk Nahapetyan has said that Azerbaijan’s anti-terrorism measures were launched upon the clause of the agreement dated November 10, 2020.

“According to the agreement, the Armenian armed forces should be withdrawn and disarmed. Was it written in the agreement or not? The Azerbaijani authorities say that these are illegal armed groups and their reasoning is correct, there is no status because the state has no status and therefore any armed formation on this territory is beyond Azerbaijan’s law,” Nahapetyan told LIVEnews.am, per Caliber.Az.

“I must read the first sentence of paragraph four of the agreement dated November 10, 2020. The Russian peacekeeping contingent is deployed parallel to the withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces. What does the Armenian armed forces mean? Can you say? The “Artsakh Defence Army” is also the Armenian armed forces, isn’t it? Were there armed forces of Burkina Faso in Karabakh? Surely not, there were Armenian armed forces in Karabakh. Who are they? Whom do these Armenian Armed Forces obey? “Artsakh” state does not exist. There are facts, I correctly interpret what has been written in the tripartite agreement,” the military expert noted.

“Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has reiterated it a thousand times. However, I’m not talking about Pashinyan, I’m talking about what has been written in the agreement. According to the agreement, the armed forces of Artsakh are also Armenian armed forces. If Pashinyan were clever, then the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, rather than the Armenian Armed Forces, would have been written in the agreement dated November 9. This has been written there. If the Armed Forces of Armenia were written there, it would be clear that these armed forces are subordinate to the Armenian Defence Ministry,” Nahapetyan said.

“Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev points this out. President Aliyev is talking about the first paragraph of paragraph four, in which the Armed Forces of Armenia have been indicated. I have been saying since November 10 that there are illegal armed forces. Pashinyan said that there were military personnel drafted from Armenia. Do you remember?
