Azerbaijan, Türkiye eye closer judicial ties after high-level talks in Ankara PHOTO
An Azerbaijani delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev visited Ankara to participate in the official inauguration of the 2025–2026 Judicial Year in Türkiye.
According to a statement released by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan, the working visit reflects the deepening of bilateral ties between Baku and Ankara, particularly in the realm of legal and judicial affairs, Caliber.Az reports.
The ceremony, held in the Turkish capital, brought together some of the country’s most senior officials, including Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, President of the Supreme Court Ömer Kerkez, Prosecutor General Muhsin Şentürk, and Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç. The event was also attended by numerous judges, prosecutors, and international guests, underscoring its significance on the regional legal calendar.
In the course of the visit, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev engaged in a series of bilateral meetings with his Turkish counterparts and other senior officials, including Prosecutor General Muhsin Şentürk, Supreme Court President Ömer Kerkez, and Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç. Talks centered on reinforcing bilateral cooperation in the field of justice, enhancing the mutual exchange of legal expertise, and fostering institutional capacity-building.
Discussions also addressed broader areas of mutual interest, including transnational crime, judicial reforms, and the alignment of legal practices in line with international standards.
