Kazakhstan, China sign $15 billion in deals at business council meeting
Kazakhstan and China signed more than 70 commercial agreements worth over $15 billion during the 8th meeting of the Kazakhstan–China Business Council in Beijing, the press service of the Kazakh president announced.
“Following the meeting of the Business Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the PRC, more than 70 commercial documents worth over $15 billion were signed,” the presidential office said in a statement published on its Telegram channel, Caliber.Az reports.
Earlier on September 1, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the growing scale of bilateral cooperation, noting that Chinese investment in Kazakhstan’s economy had reached $27 billion. He added that more than 6,000 companies with Chinese capital are currently operating in the country.
Tokayev also pointed out that mutual trade between the two neighbours hit a record $44 billion at the end of last year.
