Kremlin urges Europe to factor Nord Stream case into Ukraine debate
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Germany's decision to charge a Ukrainian national in connection with the sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines supports what Moscow describes as Ukraine's involvement in attacks on the European Union's critical infrastructure.
Speaking to reporters, Peskov argued that European countries should take Kyiv's alleged role in the Nord Stream sabotage into account when considering Ukraine's bid to join the European Union, TASS reports.
He also commented on broader developments within the EU, saying the bloc is undergoing a strategic transformation.
"The European Union is, in general, developing a military identity, and the EU itself is transforming into a military-political-economic bloc. This is an entirely different reality," Peskov said.
