Ukraine tops agenda in Moscow–Washington talks, Kremlin aide says
Moscow and Washington are currently engaged in discussions chiefly centered on the conflict in Ukraine, with broader bilateral relations yet to see significant development, said Yury Ushakov, aide to the President of Russia.
Ushakov emphasized that while communication between the two powers continues, it remains largely confined to the Ukrainian issue, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
When asked whether Russian President Vladimir Putin would update US President Donald Trump on the outcomes of his recent visit to China, Ushakov responded that it is premature to talk about progress in the overall relationship between Russia and the United States.
“Relations are developing primarily along the lines of discussions on the Ukrainian conflict. To speak about any development, as you mentioned, in bilateral relations, I think it is premature,” Ushakov stated.
The Russian official further revealed that another round of inter-ministerial consultations between Moscow and Washington on Ukraine is already scheduled, signaling ongoing efforts to address unresolved matters.
“There are many unresolved issues,” he noted, underscoring the complexity of the situation and the continued dialogue at the diplomatic level.
