Armenian Parliament rejects opposition's draft on border delimitation with Azerbaijan
23 April 2024 19:34
The Armenian National Assembly's Foreign Relations Committee has rejected the opposition-initiated draft statement on delimitation and demarcation of the border with Azerbaijan submitted by the Hayastan opposition faction.
The document stated "the need for delimitation and demarcation only after the formation of an atmosphere of trust, and not now, against the backdrop of forceful pressure and constant threats of Baku", Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
Parliamentary majority disagreed with the proposed model, saying that the statement contained dangerous clauses that could lead to a new escalation. As a result, the document was rejected by the majority of votes.
