Armenian PM thanks Azerbaijani president for joining EPC summit remotely
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for taking part via videoconference in the 8th Summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan.
According to Report, Pashinyan made the remarks during his closing press statement following the summit on May 4.
The Armenian premier also expressed gratitude to Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz for attending the event in Armenia.
“Today, the forum concluded successfully, bringing together leaders from across the continent and beyond. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the European Union for its close cooperation and partnership in organising the summit,” Pashinyan said.
“I am also grateful to the President of Azerbaijan for participating online and to the Vice President of Türkiye for attending in the context of peace processes and regional cooperation,” he added.
Pashinyan said the discussions held during the summit highlighted the need for sincere dialogue and practical solutions amid mounting global challenges.
According to him, the talks also underscored the importance of regional cooperation and the potential of open, integrated and interconnected regions to strengthen intercontinental links.
“In this context, we also addressed the importance of reinforcing peace and stability in the South Caucasus,” Pashinyan noted.
He added that achieving lasting peace, normalising relations and reopening borders with Azerbaijan and Türkiye would benefit not only the region, but also contribute to broader connectivity and cooperation across Europe and beyond.
