Armenians killed not only Azerbaijani troops, but also civilians in Aghdam State commission says
Eldar Samadov, deputy head of the working group of the Azerbaijani State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, said that Armenians killed not only Azerbaijani troops, but also many civilians in the Sarijali village of Agdam district.
"According to the information we have, not only our military servicemen but also numerous civilians were killed by Armenians in the territory of Sarijali village of Agdam region, now liberated from the occupation," Samadov said according to Report.
"Employees of the Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Mine Clearance (ANAMA) cleared the area. Specialists of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS) conducted preliminary excavations. According to the experts, the skeletons of 4 people were found. However, several fragments of other skeletons have been found. For this reason, excavations here should be continued. Excavations will also be conducted in nearby areas," he added.
Earlier, a mass grave has been found on the territory of the liberated Aghdam district.
The burial was found in the liberated Agdam district’s Sarijali village, near the Aghdam-Hindarkh road, Report informed on June 19, citing the deputy head of the working group of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Citizens Eldar Samadov.
It should be noted that earlier a mass grave was found in Shusha in the courtyard of the Shusha prison.
During the inspection of the territory where the skeletons were found, parts of a military truck were found.
Presumably, during the first Karabakh war, four people who were in this car were killed, and the bodies were thrown into a well and buried.
The Aghdam district prosecutor's office is investigating the case.
To recap, in general, more than 400 human remains have been found in the mass graves identified so far.
