Association head: Dozens of Chinese firms keen to invest in Azerbaijan

As many as 20 companies from 12 provinces of China are interested in investing in Azerbaijan. 

He Zhenwei, Secretary General of the China Overseas Development Association (CODA), made this statement during the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum in Baku, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

“Twenty Chinese companies came with me to this forum, almost all of them are private enterprises. They are interested in investing in Azerbaijan too. I consider it extremely important to hold an investment forum specifically in Azerbaijan, as it is an excellent platform for dialogue. We see that participants have arrived from different countries: besides China, also from Europe. Undoubtedly, this is an important event for attracting foreign investment,” Zhenwei said. 

He expressed his hope that Azerbaijan would pay special attention to Chinese investments. Currently, the focus is shifting from the oil sector to other manufacturing industries, which is particularly important for the country. Among the priorities are Caspian transport logistics as well as the development of “green” energy.
