Australia forms Azerbaijan friendship group in parliament on Victory Day

Australia’s Federal Parliament formally established the Australia–Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, coinciding with Azerbaijan’s Victory Day, according to the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Australia.

The group will be co-chaired by Mike Freelander, Chair of the Standing Committee on Health, Aged Care and Disability (Labor), and Rick Wilson, Deputy Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Trade and Investment (Liberal), Caliber.Az reports.

It aims to strengthen bilateral relations and foster dialogue between senior leaders and parliamentarians from both countries.

Prominent members include Senate President Sue Lines and House Speaker Milton Dick, alongside other distinguished parliamentarians.
