Azerbaijan accuses foreign outlets of spreading disinformation
Azerbaijan’s Media Development Agency (MEDIA) has described reports circulated by foreign media outlets alleging that Israel used Azerbaijani territory during its war with Iran as a form of information manipulation and disinformation.
MEDIA said in a statement that articles published by Middle East Eye and Haaretz contained such allegations without presenting supporting evidence, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
"Claims that Israel allegedly used the territory of Azerbaijan during the war with Iran are being circulated without reference to facts and constitute an example of blatant manipulation of public opinion," the agency said.
The agency argued that the dissemination of such information could undermine regional stability.
"This blatant manipulation is aimed not only at creating confusion within the international community, but also at undermining regional stability, damaging interstate relations, and generating additional tensions in the region," the statement said.
