Azerbaijan, ADB discuss 2025–2029 partnership strategy
Azerbaijan’s Finance Minister Sahil Babayev has met with a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) led by Executive Director Rachel Thompson to discuss the 2025–2029 partnership strategy, including steps to diversify the economy, strengthen financial resilience, and ensure inclusive growth.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the ADB, noting the tangible contribution of this partnership to the country’s socio-economic development through loans, grants, and technical assistance, Caliber.Az reports.
Babayev highlighted that Azerbaijan’s economy demonstrates sustainable development and macroeconomic stability, noting successful diversification in agriculture, information and communication technologies, industrial production, logistics, and green energy.
He also emphasised the ADB’s support in financing several projects, including the State Program for Improving Water Supply and Wastewater Management Systems in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula for 2025–2034, the expansion of Baku Metro lines, and the modernisation of the country’s railway infrastructure.
