Azerbaijan advances mine action plans in meeting with UN FAO

Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), met with Nasar Hayat, the Representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Azerbaijan, to discuss ongoing efforts in humanitarian demining.

During the meeting, Hayat was briefed in detail on the scale of the mine threat in Azerbaijan and the comprehensive measures ANAMA is implementing to mitigate it, Caliber.Az reports, citing the agency.

The discussions also included an exchange of views on potential areas for cooperation between ANAMA and FAO, focusing on humanitarian demining initiatives and other matters of mutual interest.
