Azerbaijan advances regional connectivity and TRIPP initiative Foreign Minister Bayramov in Munich
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, spoke at a panel discussion titled “Defining Eurasia’s Strategic Order: The Middle Corridor as a European Security Agenda for Stability, Peace, Security and Connectivity” during the Munich Security Conference. The panel also included Maka Botchorishvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, and Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
During his speech, Minister Bayramov provided detailed information on Azerbaijan’s position regarding sustainable peace and security in the South Caucasus, particularly the steps taken following the historic Washington Summit, as well as the country’s policies on regional security and stability, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He noted that the removal of transit restrictions on goods destined for Armenia, as well as steps to sell Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia, have contributed to creating an unprecedentedly stable environment in the region over recent decades.
Minister Bayramov also highlighted that Armenia’s granting of permission to export goods to third countries via Azerbaijani territory, along with meetings of think-tank representatives and experts, represents important measures for building trust.
He stressed the significance of eliminating territorial claims against Azerbaijan in the Armenian constitution for the signing of the initialled peace agreement and the further advancement of the normalization agenda, as well as achieving real progress in implementing the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project in accordance with the Washington Declaration.

It was recalled that President Ilham Aliyev’s policy is aimed at preventing the region from becoming a space of regional competition and confrontation.
The Minister also provided information on large-scale infrastructure projects, investments, and legal and regulatory coordination measures with regional partners aimed at strengthening the Middle Corridor.
He reported the adoption of a joint Roadmap between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, and Georgia to simplify procedures for freight transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, significantly reducing transit times and increasing cargo volumes.
The importance of inclusive connectivity projects, including the TRIPP initiative, as well as the potential for more active involvement by the European Union and the key roles of Türkiye and Georgia in developing regional transport links, was also emphasized.
Additionally, joint projects and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries in the development of regional connectivity were noted.
