Azerbaijan, Afghanistan discuss expansion of economic cooperation
Afghanistan’s Director of the Standards and Quality Authority (ASQA), Mullah Faizullah Tamim, and Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Economy, Anar Akhundov, have discussed economic cooperation.
The meeting was also attended by Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, the head of the Afghan state oil and gas company, as well as several senior Azerbaijani economic officials, Caliber.Az reports, citing Pajhwok Afghan News.
The sides addressed key economic issues, including increasing Afghan exports to European markets, easing transit processes, strengthening direct trade relations between the Afghan Oil and Gas Corporation (AOGC) and Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company (SOCAR), exploring investment opportunities, and expanding bilateral cooperation.
Azerbaijani officials reiterated their commitment to deepening engagement with Afghanistan.
Akhundov stated that Baku is ready to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with Kabul in the trade and economic sectors.
