18 April 2026 17:38

Within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, held talks with Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Algeria, the statement from the Ministry said.

Both ministers highlighted the establishment of a Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation as a key step towards advancing bilateral relations.

They also discussed cooperation and mutual support within international organisations, including the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement, and other multilateral platforms.

Particular attention was given to Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and preparations for hosting the upcoming OIC Summit next year.

The discussions further underlined the importance of de-escalation in the Middle East, strengthening ceasefire arrangements, and resolving conflicts through diplomatic means.
