Azerbaijan allocated over $7 billion for Karabakh's reconstruction Since late 2020

Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov has said that 12 billion manats were allocated from the country’s state budget for reconstruction works in Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions within three years after the victory in the 44-day Patriotic War.

Since late 2020, important work has been carried out on the construction and restoration of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Asadov said at a meeting of parliament, Trend reports.

"Although the state budget for 2024 allocates 4 billion manats for this. In the following years, 14.5 billion manats [$8.5 billion] will be allocated for the implementation of "I State Programme on Great Return". Overall, a total of about 30.5 billion manats [$17.9 billion] will be needed in 2022-2026," he emphasised.

Ali Asadov also mentioned that targeted and large-scale projects implemented in Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions, the package of tax, customs, social, investment, credit and other benefits provided contribute to the rapid revival of these regions, their settlement and ensuring sustainable economic activity.

"The initial phase of the return process under the '1st State Great Return Programme' has been launched, envisaging the resettlement of 34,500 families [140,000 citizens] until 2026," he added.
