Azerbaijan, Armenia foreign ministers discuss peace, transport links in New York

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held talks in New York on September 24 on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting focused on the importance of maintaining peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia and progress made since the 2025 Washington Peace Summit Agreements, according to a press release.

Particular attention was given to efforts to unblock economic and transport infrastructure between the two countries.

Bayramov and Mirzoyan highlighted trade and transit interactions between Azerbaijan and Armenia as practical examples of the benefits of peace, the statement said.

The ministers also exchanged views on the possibility of advancing a positive agenda through various multilateral platforms.

The two sides agreed to continue their direct dialogue.
