Azerbaijan, Armenia, US discuss TRIPP, border delimitation in Washington

Azerbaijan, Armenia and the United States discussed the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), the delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border and confidence-building measures during trilateral talks in Washington, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry said.

The meeting was held on August 10 between Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker and Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan, Caliber.Az reports per Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.

The talks took place on the first anniversary of the Washington Summit held on August 8, 2025, and focused on the ongoing normalisation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The sides exchanged views on the latest developments and next steps related to the TRIPP initiative, including efforts to advance the implementation of agreements and realise the route’s potential to improve regional connectivity, support economic development and contribute to lasting peace.

They also discussed the ongoing delimitation of the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, stressing the importance of continuing practical work based on agreements reached by the two sides.

The delegations paid particular attention to confidence-building measures aimed at strengthening mutual trust and supporting the sustainable implementation of the peace process.

The sides thanked the United States for hosting the trilateral meeting and emphasised the importance of turning existing commitments into tangible results, according to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
