Azerbaijan attaches great importance to its D-8 membership, top official says

Azerbaijan attaches great importance to its membership in the Developing Eight (D-8) Organization for Economic Cooperation, Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said during the presentation of the D-8 Media Excellence Center Strategy on the sidelines of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.

Hajiyev emphasized Azerbaijan's commitment to the organization and thanked fellow member states for supporting the initiative, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

"Azerbaijan attaches great importance to its membership of D-8. I would like to express gratitude to all D-8 members for supporting this initiative," Hajiyev said.

He noted that the D-8 Media Excellence Center is now fully operational and expressed hope that it would serve as a shared platform for media cooperation among member states.

"Today, the Media Excellence Center has already become fully functional, and we do hope that the D-8 countries will actively use the Media Excellence Center, which belongs to our D-8 media family," the presidential aide added.
