Azerbaijan attracts over $3 billion in foreign investment in first half of 2025
Foreign direct investment in Azerbaijan's economy surpassed $3 billion from January to June 2025, the head of the statistics department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Samir Nasirov, said.
"For the first half of the current year, the volume of direct foreign investments in Azerbaijan's economy amounted to $3.2 billion. Azerbaijan’s investments in the economy of foreign countries reached $1.349 billion," Nasirov said on September 17 at a briefing on the balance of payments, Caliber.Az reports.
Nasirov noted that the volume of investments in the Azerbaijani economy from the UK over the specified period amounted to $806 million, from Türkiye $629 million, from Cyprus $353 million, from Switzerland $226 million, and from Iran $176 million.
Over the first six months of 2025, Azerbaijan invested $542 million in the economy of Israel, $177 million in Türkiye, $156 million in the UAE, $77 million in the US, and $77 million in Georgia.
Nasirov explained that the majority of investments in Israel account for the Tamar gas field.
