Azerbaijan, Belarus, Slovakia hold defence talks on regional security
The First Deputy Minister of Defene of Azerbaijan and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, held telephone conversations with the Chiefs of the General Staffs of Belarus and Slovakia at the initiative of the foreign counterparts.
During the discussions with Major General Pavel Muraveiko, First Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, and General Daniel Zmeko, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Slovakia, the officials exchanged detailed views on regional security, the situation in the region, and bilateral military cooperation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry.
The Chiefs of the General Staffs also addressed recent attacks by Iranian forces using unmanned aerial vehicles targeting civilian infrastructure in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. They noted that such attacks “contradict the norms of international law.”
Colonel General Karim Valiyev expressed his gratitude to his counterparts for their support and shared perspectives during the conversations.
