Azerbaijan bolsters air defence with new rules for border protection Decree by PM Asadov
Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed a decree amending the Rules for the use of duty forces and combat equipment of air defence troops against aircraft and aerial vehicles that violate the state border.
According to the document, the voluntary military-patriotic technical-sports society will no longer participate in air and civil defence tasks, Caliber.Az reports, citing the decree published on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.
These functions are now assigned exclusively to state and public structures.
The amendments also clarify the actions of air defence in detecting small-sized and low-flying targets, including the use of aviation and ground posts.
Specialised media will handle civil defence propaganda under the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
