Azerbaijan building Horadiz-Aghband highway in Karabakh VIDEO
The Horadiz-Jabrayil-Zangilan-Aghband (Zangazur Corridor) highway, the foundation of which has been laid by the Azerbaijani and Turkish presidents, is being rapidly built in Azerbaijan.
“The highway has been designed and is being built in accordance with the first technical category,” Spokesman for the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads, Anar Najafli, told Caliber.Az.
The highway starts in Ahmadbayli village of the Fuzuli district. The first 77 kilometres of the highway will be six-lane, while the remaining 46.6 kilometres will be four-lane. The width of the highway will be 29.5 metres and 21.5 metres, respectively.
Around 15 bridges, 5 overpasses, 54 underpasses are planned to be built on the Horadiz - Jabrayil - Zangilan - Aghband highway stretching 123.6 kilometres.
Some 14 bridges, 3 overpasses, 38 underpasses are being built.
Construction is planned to be completed in 2024.
The Horadiz - Jabrayil - Zangilan – Aghband highway, being a part of the Hajigabul - Horadiz - Aghband – Zangazur main highway, is of great importance in terms of connecting Zangilan with other districts of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.
